GCI is proud of the $42.7 million it has directly invested in the nine programs and projects it has spearheaded for seven years and is pleased to congratulate and collaborate with the other key stakeholders who have complemented GCI’s work by investing $186.7 million in 11 programs and projects during the same timeframe.

Overall, $229.4 million has been spent across 20 projects to benefit the four Greater Chatham neighborhoods—Avalon Park, Auburn Gresham, Chatham, and Greater Grand Crossing in employment, business development, housing, safety, public services, and civic capacity.

Greater Chatham is 15 square miles, located in the heart of Chicago’s Southside, between 61st -95th Street and the Dan Ryan Woods. It continues to be an area of opportunity and choice.  As the African proverb says, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” We look forward to continuing to fulfill our organization’s mission as we move forward together.
